Thank you, Jan! At least there will be two of us on this. A group blog can allow us to throw in anything anytime without having to formally e-mail to each other. Anyway, while I'm here, the past weekend has been one of celebration in Sheldon. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday was the occasion for the 99th Annual Sheldon Old Settlers Picnic. I talked to a fellow who is 93 and has attended the last 86 of these picnics. What endurance! How anyone can stand that much country music, tractor pulls, fly-infested cheeseburgers, etc., is beyond me. On Friday evening I attended the pet show and the talent show. As soon as the talent show ended, the country music group Distant Kin took the stage. Time to go home. Saturday evening at 6:30 was the time for the parade, complete with firetrucks, floats and convertibles carrying cute little girls who were the princesses and queens for the picnic, and lots of horses pooping on main street. The parade began about a half-block from my house, and horse manure scented the neighborhood. But, a good time was had by all. Sheldon's population of 529 triples or quadruples on this weekend. Folks come from all over the southern part of Vernon County and half of Barton County to the south.
Well, I am trying it and hope someone else will, too.
Now that I know that this works, I hope everybody in the group can make some use of it. Right now, I'm not even sure how to tell you how to do it.
This is a test. This is only a test.
